Being a web designer and photographer in Chico and Butte County is an amazing experience. However, it’s good to leave our local stomping grounds on occasion to reset. We wrapped up a website consultation and photo shoot on Sunday and headed out early on Monday to do just that.
The final part of the drive from Chico to Big Sur is an experience worth having all by itself. As a photographer driving Highway 1 along the California Coast should probably not be legal. The amazing views of cliffs, sandy beaches, waves crashing, and amazingly blue water will never cease to amaze (and distract) me – even if I’m driving. Fortunately, we arrived at Big Sur State Park safe and sound.
The following few days were spent soaking the beauty of this magical area. Wild beaches, boulder-strewn creeks, and misty forests were around each turn. Good times with friends, family, and the pups made the experience even more special. The bonus to the story is the fact that trip like this makes returning home wonderful as well. The time away makes things in Chico seem new and fresh and opens up new perspectives.
